NORA STERRY PARTNERSHIP

Bruins Public Health partners with Nora Sterry Elementary School, located in Los Angeles, to provide health lessons for second-grade students. This year, BPH will be expanding its reach by working with two second grade classrooms, alternating weekly, to raise awareness and promote health education in the Los Angeles community.

Site Visits

  • Mentors help students review topics taught at past site visits, followed by a brief lesson and recess

  • Opportunity to connect with children about health issues they face growing up and raise awareness about physical and mental health 

  • Learn more about early health education and prevention


Assemblies

  • During spring quarter

  • Previous assembly: Food waste and reduction

  • Help BPH decide the topic and help plan the assembly!
